[OS X TeX] Any problems when the LaTeX-tree is just copied?

Hi!

Yesterday I set up the new Macbook Pro from my girlfriend and had
problems to get CJK to run with the new TeX based on TeX-Live. I ended
up copying the whole TeX-tree from my Intel-iMac (working TeX-tree,
installed with i-installer before the TeX-Live) and setting up the
path-variables by hand. After doing that TeX worked flawless (at least
it seems so after doing a test-run).
Do I have to inspect any problems? How do I update such an
installation (usually I do this with i-installer)?
