[OS X TeX] Using apa.cls and trying to fit table to page

Hi,
Even though I'm not a Mac user, I wanted to send this message here, as I
find the posts here very helpful. Google thinks so as well :)
I am using apa.cls (which was previously discussed at the list[1]) and
I'm having trouble fitting a very big correlation matrix table (21 by 21
variables) into one page (or several pages using longtable, which seems
not to work with apa.cls). So far, I tried everything and nothing
worked. Being very new (~2 weeks) with tex, I probably didn't try
everything ;)
For now, I fit the table by writing it in a different .tex file using
{landscape}, converting that to pdf, than to eps, and include it as a
figure to the article.tex. But then, I have to label it as a {figure}
(right?): on the pdf, it shows as Figure 1, even though it clearly is a
table... Furthermore, this probably isn't using the capabilities of
latex as intended...
Do you have any suggestions? I would appreciate any pointers, especially
those that would work peacefully with apa.cls.
Although I subscribed to the list, please CC me on your replies.
Thank you very much,
Sincerely,
Mehmet Ergun.
