A new TeX i-Package is in the last testing phases off-list, with
completely revised directory structure. Things should become
completely transparent to the user, and easier for the front ends.
Hence, in case the matter is not urgent, you shouldn't worry about
this right now and rather wait. The wait shouldn't be long.
If, however, the matter is indeed urgent (like an Xmas deadline), yes
you can for now use gwTeX instead of TeXLive when specifying paths to
the front ends.
