[OS X TeX] clean zip files

To publish packages at CTAN the maintainer wants to get *clean* zip
files. zip files made in the Finder contain a lot of metadata. So
I've decided to make the zip files in the Terminal with

     zip -r foldername archivename -x .*
The underlined option should avoid that the archive contains
a .DS_Store entry. But the archive *contains* one! Why?

How can I create real clean zip files?

TIA and kind regards. Friedrich

Stell Dir vor, es geht, und keiner kriegt's hin.
