you'll need to check at least the CFG file with the system's one! / 
private/var/root/Library/texmf/web2c/updmap.cfg contains settings  
whether to download the standard PS fonts or to use the urw++ clones  
(by their Karl Berry or other names) instead of the real ones, which  
MAP files are enabled, etc.

Invoke on the command line

	sudo diff /private/var/root/Library/texmf/web2c/updmap.cfg /usr/ 
local/teTeX/share/texmf.local/web2c/updmap.cfg

and try apply changes to the system's /usr/local/teTeX/share/ 
texmf.local/web2c/updmap.cfg file with 'sudo -H updmap-sys ...' to  
make the changes vanish!

If you send me diff's output I can try to determine the right batch  
of commands!
