[OS X TeX] OT: PSutils query

I need to fiddle with some pages, scaling them for other purposes... I have tried to use various of the PSUtils, but to no avail. If I say, for example,

psresize -w4.25in -h5.5in input.ps output.ps

I get a letter-size page scaled 50% and put onto a letter-size page. What i want is a letter-size page scaled 50% put onto a page that is itself 4.25in x 5.5in. Can psresize do this? If not, what can?
