Own a couple thousands SF books and have seen probably as many films. 
Intersection empty or, at least, have yet to see a good SF movie. 
(Alphaville is certainly not one of Godard's best).

This, by the way, is interesting: A lot of great "noir", even French, or 
think of more recent Kitano, Suzuki, etc
