I can reproduce this error with TeXShop 1.41 in Tiger, Mac OS X  
10.4.3, when the Distiller is set to Ghostscript. TeXShop and  
Ghostscript do not fail when I use golfer.eps or tiger.eps from  
Ghostscript's examples, it seems that the use of PostScript text in  
the EPS file causes the failure.
