Hello everyone!

I've noticed several folks posting recently re.
Spotlight and working with it. In the interest
of helping all of you work with Spotlight (or
simply turn it off/on), I gleaned the following
Spotlight commands from the application CLIX

1) Index Publish -- publish indexes to drive

sudo mdutil -p /

2) Index Status -- show Spotlight index status

sudo mdutil -s /

3) Indexing Off -- turn Spotlight indexing off

sudo mdutil -i off /

4) Indexing On -- turn Spotlight indexing on

sudo mdutil -i on /

5) Remove Indexes -- remove Spotlight indexes

sudo mdutil -E /

6) Remove Store -- remove Spotlight store

sudo rm -fr /.Spotlight-V100
