In Preferences > Engine, you may try to replace, in the TeX + dvips +  
distiller box, the call of simpdftex by, for TeX:

simpdftex tex --extradvipsopts "-R0" --maxpfb

and similarly for LaTeX:

simpdftex latex --extradvipsopts "-R0" --maxpfb
