[OS X TeX] \special{papersize=7in,10in}

I thought that I might try the geometry package -- I didn't really want to because it does too much. For PDFLaTeX, it works correctly with TeXShop; when using TeX+Ghostscript, it does not work: everything is still on the default lettersize paper, just shifted around.

Any insights?
