[OS X TeX] Numbers in thebibliography

I don't understand. Where do I have to put it that it works? In the  
preamble it is not accepted and before \begin{thebiliography} and  
after \bibitem it prints "iblabel[1]"?????

BTW, I'm using
\documentclass[11pt,a4paper,titlepage]{report}
\usepackage[applemac]{inputenc}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage{ngerman,graphicx,textcomp})
