[OS X TeX] Using i-Installer

Hello,
I just have a question about i-Installer.  I
downloaded the MacTex.dmg file from TUG a while ago, a
pretty hefty file.  Now, if TeXShop or any of the
other components are ever updated, do I need to
download the whole shabang again, or can I pick and
choose through i-Installer?  Basically, I don't know
what i-Installer does, exactly.
