I compared the original jpg file with the output from convert eps2: and the
latter contains an almost verbatim copy of the jpg inside. But a few bytes
are different, so I guess that you are right and it does a JPEG decode and
an encode, which of course decreases the quality slightly. Therefore
jpeg2ps should be preferably, certainly with the -b option to save space.
