[OS X TeX] spaces in names

Either you don't have that file, or you need a newer TeX:

TEMP> pdflatex "test 1.tex"
This is pdfeTeX, Version 3.141592-1.30.4-2.2 (Web2C 7.5.5)
entering extended mode
(./test 1.tex
[...]
Output written on "test 1.pdf" (1 page, 20240 bytes).
Transcript written on "test 1.log".
