[OS X TeX] White vs. Transparent?

If there is a way to connect to spot colors from the OS X interface,  
and I have appropriate examples for the TeX code in question, I'd he  
happy to add that. OTOH, the named colours can act as private spot  
colours, provided you don't use too many (replace after the fact).
