I still use teTeX, I can only tell what's in the archive files that  
make TeX Live.

In teTeX 'texdoc index' brings up a DVI document about indexing in  
TeX. It might make more sense to determine first a PDF doc, paper  
could be such a singular candidate.

The ultimate test would be:

	sh -x `which texdoc` paper

Be aware of 1,000 lines of output ...
