[OS X TeX] Portable LaTeX on Mac?

I was pointed to the following document:

which describes how to set up a portable installation of LaTeX system
based on MiKTeX on USB thumb drives for WIndows systems.

I was wondering if there exists similar setup on Mac?

Some people might wonder what's the use of this kind of setup. Well, I
personally ran into situations like this several times, wishing I
could latex on other people's Macs without "messing" them up.
