Ah!

I had wondered at the time whether Nicola might not be a counter-example
to Schremmer's Rule (for when looking at lists of students' names) that
"all names ending in a are women's first name" because of the French
Nicolas versus Nicole. So, I had looked up on the web and come across

    http://www.zelo.com/firstnames/findresults.asp?name=nicola&x=28&y=4

Well, there is nothing like knowing the person.

Should Dr. Talbot read this list, I hope she will accept this for an
excuse—and I am glad that Schremmer's Rule holds.

Regards
