Great!  This version fixes a serious bug that had rendered preview- 
latex unusable (documented in the bug-auctex archives here: http:// 
www.mail-archive.com/bug-auctex at gnu.org/msg00671.html).  The  
synchronization appears to be more accurate as well.  My thanks to  
you and David K.
