[OS X TeX] updating everythin

hi list,

I'm new here and decided to post my question here after having spent a 
lot of time googling and searching around without success:

system: mac OSX 10.3.9
gwtex
latex from command line or texshop

I just wand to update EVERYTHING...an I don't know how. I tried 
i-installer, but it didn't work (I'm not sure if I did it right, 
anyway, since there were no update buttons...). for example, the 
pstricks-files are still from 2005 or older..

I'm not very experienced with unix-commands, so I would be pleased to 
get some low-level-help...
