[OS X TeX] LaTeX programming primer

Thanks for your responses which told me what I guessed might be the 
case. So, I found the next best thing to 'free' and that was to pay the 
university library a visit. I now have Goossens, Mittelbach, & Samarin's 
LaTeX companion and Kpoka & Daly's 'A Guide to LaTeX'.

They're ok, but things are still a bit abstruse... Hey ho, that's what 
keeps it interesting I guess.
