You used "Reply" to MANPATH discussion but then changed the topic. If you go to

you will see the confusion it caused.


The second thing: your question is not MacOSX specific and should be
addressed to texhax list. There are plenty of very knowledgeable
people who never read this list and your chances to get an answer
would be much larger.
