There are some, and it's typically the kind of questions that the  
"LaTeX Companion" has been written to answer. (Can't be of much help  
now, I don't have a copy at hand.)

Finally, this question is not specific to TeXShop: it's a generic  
LaTeX mechanism. (I'm telling this because you are mentioning TeXShop  
in your question.)
