[OS X TeX] Updating koma-script in MacTeX (TeXLive 2007)

Ciao Folks,

after reading the recent discussion on koma-script and caption.sty, I 
wondered if there is an easy way to update the koma-script bundle in 
TeXLive 2007 except waiting for a new MacTeX release.

Studying koma-script's install manifest 
(ftp://ftp.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/koma-script/INSTALL.txt) 
I get more confused than wiser.

Would it be possible just to extract the komascript.tds.zip into 
~/Library/texmf?
