I've known of Papers, but it didn't really impressed me. And yes, I
think some functionalities are the same or similar to BibDesk.
But I think you might want to take a look at DEVONthink Professional
or DEVONthink Pro Office, as well as DEVONagent and the freeware
EasyFind. They have video tutorials that tell you a lot about what
DEVONthink and DEVONagent can do.
