Howdy,

I've had to rebuild LaunchServices more than once to fully resolve  
problems. A classic sign of trouble is if you see doubled up  
applications when you do a Ctl(right)-click and look at the Open  
With... list. The other major sign of trouble is what folks here have  
been observing.
