Just to point out a few of the cool BibDesk group features we added:

Search Groups

- you can now search e.g. PubMed in BibDesk with a search group
- you can now search libraries via z39.50 with a search group
- you can drag-and-drop a search group to your desktop and mail it
elsewhere

External/Script Groups

- you can now add a group based on an external file or URL
- you can now add a group based on a script

This last feature takes text output from a shell/Python/Ruby/Perl/C/
AppleScript/whatever program and tries to interpret it as bibliography
data (BibTeX, RIS, ISI, etc).

As an example of what you can do with script groups, I posted the
source to a simple program that downloads an EI Compendex search RSS
feed (updated weekly) and converts it to BibTeX. It's at <http://homepage.mac.com/amaxwell/
 >, filename compendextobibtex.zip. Your institution needs a
subscription to Compendex for this to work, but I thought a concrete
example would help.

regards,
Adam
