[OS X TeX] uninstalling MacTeX

It's just that I feel that uninstalling a piece of software
ought to be as easy as installing it. Usually removing an
application in Mac OsX requires only to drag it to the trash bin,
empty the trash bin, and also to remove the
associated preference file in ~/Library/Preferences. That's it.

If installing the rather large MacTeX can be automated, i.e. there
is a gui-based process that guides the user through the installation,
let's him/her decide what to install etc., why can't there be a
similar process that guides the user through uninstalling stuff
and offers the option to uninstall everything.

Who knows what kinds of TeX distribution I will be using in
2 years ? Perhaps my current installation would be incompatible
with some future installation (maybe not MacTeX). Then
it would be good to be able to start with a clean system.
Of course it is likely that I will have upgraded the OS by then,
but still ...
