[OS X TeX] path

hi list,

I have my private tex-tree in ~/Library/texmf, but kpsewhich 
-expand-var='$TEXMF'  does not have this path, but ~/texmf (whithout 
Library).
So, of course, I could copy my private texmf from Library to home, but 
instead I prefer changing the path, but I don't know where to find the 
file with the path settings...
what is the name of this file and where can I find it? (texlive/2007)
