For me,
Scrolling slowly, Safari dies at p. 22
Scrolling a page at a time, I can go to the end, back to the start,
and then when it hits p.22 the second or third time it crashes.

Preview has no problem.

Mac OSX 10.4.9 on a MacBook Pro
Safari 2.0.4 (419.3)
Preview 3.0.9 (409)
