Howdy,
I don't know which version of the latexmk engines you downloaded
since there was a second update yesterday (at least yesterday here,
in the Chicago area). Double click the pdflatexmk.engine file found
in ~/Library/TeXShop/Engines/. If it has a line that looks like
touch "$1"
update (yet again, sigh...) to the latest version that works much
better with distributed documents. Download LatexmkTeXShop.zip from
<http://homepage.mac.com/herbs2/> and simply replace all three engine
files found in ~/Library/TeXShop/Engines/ with the ones from that
download. The new versions tell latexmk to create a dependency file
so changes in an included file will force at least one compile but
latexmk won't compile if there are no changes. The behavior is more
desirable than using the versions with the `touch` line since that
would force at least one compile, even when it was not needed.
Good Luck,
