[XeTeX] [OS X TeX] Unexpected quotation marks

I have the TeX distribution set to TeXLive-2007. I don't know how to  
set the xelatex output driver.

My preamble (the packages part) reads:

\usepackage{amsmath} %
\usepackage[left=.5in, right = .5in, top=.6in, bottom = .6in]{geometry}
