Do you mean pdf produced by pdflatex? This is weird. You did something
to damage it really badly (f.e. aborted execution or included some
weird objects).

Remember that even pdflatex 1.40 can produce only pdf-1.5 while A8
understands up to 1.7! So usually it goes another way:


Can you post such pdf or source tex (and better to pdftex list or
com.text.tex newsgroup where all pdf sages are).
