But beamerexample1.tex doesn't have \rowcolors[\hline] or longtable.
Bruno's explanation is correct and his suggestion works: I tested it with 
both TeX distributions, gwTeX and TeXLive-07. See my email "Subject: 
\rowcolor xcolor in bemear: Re: [OS X TeX] Texlive-mac os".

The annoying thing is the fix that we need to do each time when we update 
gwTeX or TeXLive-07. But this would be fixed, for sure.
