[OS X TeX] OTFTOTFM problem

When I try to run otftotfm (at home) I get this error:

otftotfm: encoding 'texnansx' not found

This is odd because, at work, this runs without a hiccup.

Is otftotfm looking for texnansx.enc? I can get that from ctan, but  
where should I put it that otftotfm will find it?

Thanks for any insights into this puzzle...
