[OS X TeX] Using System Fonts in LaTeX

I seem to recall a discussion in the past about how to use system
fonts in LaTeX but I can't find anything about it.  There are hundred
of fonts shipped with Mac OS X and I want to use some of them (i.e.
helvetica) in LaTeX.  How can I do this?  Is such a thing even
possible?
