Herbert Schulz's reply is far better than any I could give. But
seeing his advice and thinking how time-consuming enabling several
fonts can be, I can't help quoting Bruno Voisin's advice from
sudo -H updmap-sys --nohash --nomkmap --syncwithtrees
sudo -H updmap-sys --nohash --nomkmap --enable Map mapfile1.map
sudo -H updmap-sys --nohash --nomkmap --enable Map mapfile2.map
sudo -H updmap-sys --nohash --nomkmap --enable Map mapfile3.map
sudo -H updmap-sys
