Howdy,
John Collins has a new version of latexmk (v3.20) with improved
dependency handling that seems to work properly with packages that
have special dependencies and need special processing rules (e.g.,
the glossary package [and its successor, the glossaries package] and
the nomencl package). To use latexmk 3.20 with TeXShop I've had to
change the engine files as well as make some additions (for the
glossary and nomencl packages) to the rc files, etc.
I added some dependencies and rules to the .rc files that I know work
with the glossary package and it's base glossary and acronym indexes.
I you create special indexes you'll have to add those dependencies to
the list in the .rc files. To use the glossaries package you need
change the rule in the rc file; I've got both rules there but only
one can be active at a time since the extension dependencies in both
packages are identical.
There also is a dependency and rule for the nomencl package although
I haven't test it yet.
This version of latexmk seems to work nicely with distributed
documents (as did the previous version once I figured out the option
I needed to set :-)).
I haven't had time to see if packages like multibib or multind are
properly handled.
Right now the output from latexmk is a bit verbose but I'll clean
that up once I'm convinced everything is working as expected and I
give more detailed instructions on dealing with the .rc file.
That said, I'd appreciate as many folks testing the new package and
giving feedback as possible. You can download it as
Latexmk320TeXShop.zip from <http://homepage.mac.com/herbs2/>.
Good Luck,
