Another possibility is that
/usr/local/texlive/2007/texmf-var/fonts/map/pdftex/updmap/pdftex.map
is broken, preventing gtamacfonts.map to be read.
Does this file look correct if you open it in a text editor? In case
you've TextWrangler or BBEdit, what does it say about this file? Unix
end-of-lines and Mac-Roman encoding?
In case none of this is incorrect, there may simply be lines with
malformed syntax, yielding the messages

The last message, in particular, suggests some date & time info has
found its way unexpectedly inside the file content.
