[OS X TeX] Embedding Type 1 fonts into both ps and PDF file

I'm submitting a paper and the publisher contacted me and said 
that I needed to embed type 1 fonts ...

I've tried to find some web page that tells me how to do and 
there are several that do that (at least for the ps file) ... 
however, I don't know how to check if the fonts have been 
embedded or what type they are.

Does anyone have any advice/help on this?

(I don't have access to any Adobe stuff)
