The PATH problem is fixed (and old version of tcsh.rc).

Nevertheless, the problem with  configure persists; the log file says:

[...]

configure:5149: checking for X
configure:5264: gcc -E  conftest.c
conftest.c:28:22: error: X11/Xlib.h: No such file or directory
