He succeeded and now I can use beautiful OpenGL renderer on my
MacBookPro 10.4.11
However currently it requires changing some files, then running
./configure, then changing config.h
and Makefile, then compiling.

However authors try to make ./configure to make all editing. Hopefully
it comes very soon

PS No, MacPorts version does not have OpenGL renderer. But one can use
it for  embedded into pdf 3d model in prc
