[OS X TeX] Vertical Spacing in "bmatrix" environment

Not perfect, but try:

   \begin{bmatrix}
      \frac{s+5}{s^2+5s+4} \\[4pt]
      \frac{-1}{s^2+5s+4}
   \end{bmatrix}
