My following command: tlmgr update --dry-run --all

seemed having good results, so I think I can as the next step do:

joachim$ sudo tlmgr update --all

... at least it is already busy!

That's exactly the problem for newbies. I've already been on the way to
chmod a+x update-tlmgr-latest.sh
but was uncertain and didn't dare it alone... But with a little help  
of some friend...
