[OS X TeX] Stymied by updmap-sys; what's going on?

Gary,
I just noticed your post. I have the same fonts from Micropress and
get the same duplicate font errors. Just ignore them. For me, anyway,
the Micropress fonts are the ones that get used and that's all I care
about.
My answer may not be satisfactory, but if it works then why get all
hot and bothered? Have you tried a test page with some math? Does it
work? Create two documents. In the preamble of the first one you will
have the command \usepackage{tmmaths}. Notice this is not the package
tmmath supplied by Micropress, but Walter Schmidt's improved version
(note the extra 's' at the end of the command). In the second document
comment out or remove the \usepackage{tmmaths} command. Print both
documents and do a side-by-side comparison. Can you tell a difference?
You should be able to.
Again, if it works, just go with it.
Best,
Richard
