View in another viewer (Preview). In the Tools menu you'll find the
Inspector. This will list the page size as recorded in the pdf file.
Do not trust the previewer in TeXShop and what it "seems" to display
as the size.
Are you using pdflatex of latex + GhostScript? If the latter, add the
option dvips to the geometry package.
