[OS X TeX] Curious xelatex font problem

Howdy,

What are the contents of your xelatex.engine file (found in ~/Library/ 
TeXShop/Engines/) and what is your command line call?

Also note that by default running

xelatex file

in MacTeX 2007 the xdvi-pdf processing is done with xdv2pdf while the  
same command under MacTeX 2008 uses xdvipdfmx.
