Here you can create an additional texmf.cnf file: /usr/local/texlive/ 
2008/texmf.cnf. And here you can put your extra settings.


IMO it would be less complicated to move /Users/ego/Boulot (and other  
folders with TeX input files) into $HOME/Library/texmf. There it  
(they) is (are) automagically in TeX's search path ...
