Hi Alain,

In the TeXShop preferences under Engine for TeX + dvips + distiller 
put the following (for latex)

simpdftex latex --maxpfb --distiller ps2pdf

If you also use plain TeX, then the command for TeX should be

simpdftex tex --maxpfb --distiller ps2pdf

This will call ps2pdf (which defaults to version 14).

For some reason, simpdftex defaults to 13, but you can pass an 
explicit distiller program to it as an option.
